A group of 21 farmers and two officials from eight blocks of Sahibganj district, Jharkhand visited ICAR-CISH, Lucknow on January 8, 2024 under ATMA Programme. Scientist-Farmers interaction meeting was organized and technologies of subtropical fruit production, protection and post harvest value addition were disseminated to farmers For nutritional security and enhancing farmers’ income, farmers were motivated to grow newly released vegetable varieties like high yielding Pusa golden cherry tomato-2, Pusa Raunak Tinda (DRM-26), Pusa Long Green cucumber, Pusa Hybrid-4 bitter gourd and Thar Amrit (high yielding custard apple. Importance of management of Fusarium wilt in Banana using ICAR-Fusicont was discussed. Farmers were sensitized about insect pest and disease management in mango and guava Hindi literatures on Bio-immunization of Banana, low chilling apple, Zinc and Boron management in Guava, high yielding custard apple and vegetables cultivation were distributed. During field visits, institute technologies in mango and guava orchards were demonstrated. Mr. Arvind Kumar (ACTO) and Dr. Tarun Adak (Senior Scientist) delivered lectures and interacted with the farmers. Dr. Tarun Adak (Senior Scientist) and Mr. Arvind Kumar (ACTO) organized the visit. झारखंड के साहिबगंज जिले के आठ ब्लॉकों के 21 किसानों और दो अधिकारियों के एक समूह ने ए.टी.एम.ए कार्यक्रम के तहत 8 जनवरी, 2024 को आईसीएआर-सीआईएसएच, लखनऊ का भ्रमण किया। वैज्ञानिक-किसान संवाद बैठक आयोजित की गई और किसानों को उपोष्णकटिबंधीय फल उत्पादन, संरक्षण और फसल के बाद मूल्य संवर्धन की प्रौद्योगिकियों का प्रसार किया गया। पोषण सुरक्षा और किसानों की आय बढ़ाने के लिए, किसानों को उच्च उपज वाली पूसा गोल्डन चेरी टमाटर -2, पूसा रौनक टिंडा (डीआरएम -26), पूसा लॉन्ग ग्रीन ककड़ी, पूसा हाइब्रिड -4 कड़वी जैसी नई सब्जियों की किस्मों को उगाने के लिए प्रेरित किया गया। आईसीएआर-फ्यूसिकॉन्ट का उपयोग करके केले में फ्यूजेरियम विल्ट के प्रबंधन के महत्व पर चर्चा की गई। किसानों को आम एवं अमरूद में कीट एवं रोग प्रबंधन के प्रति जागरूक किया गया। जलवायु परिवर्तन के प्रतिकूल प्रभावों और फलों के विकास के दौरान जल संरक्षण के महत्व के बारे में बताया गया। केले के जैव-प्रतिरक्षण, कम ठंड होने वाले सेब, अमरूद में जिंक और बोरॉन प्रबंधन, उच्च उपज वाले शरीफा और सब्जियों की खेती पर हिंदी साहित्य वितरित किए गए। क्षेत्र भ्रमण के दौरान, संस्थान द्वारा आम और अमरूद के बागों में विकसित प्रौद्योगिकियों का प्रदर्शन किया गया। श्री अरविंद कुमार (एसीटीओ) और डॉ. तरूण अदक (वरिष्ठ वैज्ञानिक) ने व्याख्यान दिया और किसानों के साथ बातचीत की। डॉ. तरूण अदक (वरिष्ठ वैज्ञानिक) और श्री अरविंद कुमार (एसीटीओ) ने इस भ्रमण का आयोजन किया।
